Crossing the Border

A road trip to Bowling Green, Ohio.

A 1969 John B. Bean superduty pumper truck. It held 500 gallons of water and is capable of pumping 1,000 gallons per minute. These two trucks were part of the Ohio State Fire School held on the campus.

This is a 1946 Alco S-4 Switcher belonging to the Toledo, Lake Erie and Western Railroad located in Waterville, OH.


An old caboose, once belonging to the Nickel Plate Line which disappeared from the railroad scene sometime in the mid 1960's.

A Rare Treat

So far we have counted over 35 different kinds of birds in our yard, all within ten yards of the house. Watching the Hairy Woodpeckers taking care of their young has been the highlight of the spring so far.

This is their nest in an old locust tree. The male is sitting on the tree, the female is in flight.

Trout Stocking

The following pictures show students in the Northern Cambria High School Global Science class assisting with a fish stocking at Chest Creek along River Road.
